Setting Up & Calling 911
The Magic Jack phone service offers a 911 option. If you are planning on using this, it is very important to keep your physical address up to date. You can do this by going to the softphone screen and clicking on the area where your address is showing. If you haven’t entered an address, you will see Select Your Current 911 Location. You should give your correct address during registration. An email will be sent to you to let you know your address has been registered. If you do not get this confirmation email, check your softphone screen to ensure the correct address is showing.
If your physical address has been verified, the button by the 911 will show green. If it is yellow, that means that your address couldn’t be immediately verified and the verification may take a few days. if the address shown is not in the United States the button will be black. A red button shows that your address cannot be verified and you should click on the red button to fix this problem.
Many people use this service for calling home inexpensively while they are traveling. If you are often in different locations, it may be a hassle to always remember to update your 911 address. Better to have a cell phone or land line phone available to use. The 911 service is only used for the United States and Canada.
An even better option is to have an extra phone you can use that does not require electricity to function. You may have an emergency when the electrical power is out. If this happens, you won’t be able to use the 911 feature on the magic jack. Your internet service being interrupted can also cause you not to be able to dial 911 on this voip phone service. If you have a power outage or an internet service interruption, make sure your device is working properly when it comes back on, but do not call 911 just to test it. Also tell others that may use your service if you have an alternate phone to use.

@John,
I’m assuming you are having prank calls on your Magic Jack number? Have you given it out to very many people?

is there a way to make the phone go busy because I work at a radio station. lets say we give a prize away to the 10th caller we would make the phone line go busy so we wouldn’t have to hear the phone ringing. Our phones can go up to 1,000 people calling.

I would like to use my Magic Jack as a fax line with my HP OfficeJet J4680c. Is this possible? If so how do I get instructions for this application?
HELP!
