For two weeks I have tried talking to someone on chat. My complaint is this, I can make local calls fine, but I cannot call the town 50 miles away? The last time I checked the town was in the same state as me and South Dakota has not pulled from the Union.

I can call out of state without problems!

I have been tied up on chat for four hours that I will never get back in a busy world. I am told someone will contact me however, that has never happened. After two weeks I do not see this getting fixed.

Clearly, the support personal at magic jack are clueless in how to fix the problem. They always tell me the same things and it does not solve the problem. By adjusting settings on my pc? It did not work the first time why do you think it will on the fourth?

Guess, this is what I get thinking I could save a few dollars. I will be searching for other options. And never tell a friend to buy this product. I was planning on sending one to my family overseas to call back here in the U.S.

Maybe my ex-wife can have one so I do not have to take her calls!

i have been using MJ since 2009 with out any problems .i do know that there are a few tech issues you need to address for any VOIP to run properly. 1st you need an upload speed of 250k per sec !! 2nd you need to be on fast path with your ISP . not sure just call them and request fast path settings( this will also speed up your connection )!other wise you will get choppy audio .For me i went out n bought a used pc 2.4 hrz just to rum MJ cost me 60 bucks . cheep considering how much a reg home line is !I did have one problem this year , on renewal it world work on out going only. Since i live in Canada i pay extra for my number $10 wow lol.well for got to renew the number lol once i did this ,back to no problems with mj.and P.s Mj does disconnect all calls after 90 minutes as a safe guard to the network and yes it's in writing on there site ! and if it only work via your pc speakers then make sure your setting in Mj are on MJ not you PC's sound card !!
