Magic Jack Voip

Magic Jack is an innovative and relatively new form of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Basically, VoIP allows one to place phone calls over the Internet instead of a traditional phone line. This has the obvious benefit of being much cheaper (sometimes practically free) compared to the old way of talking to people via the phone. This technology has certainly boomed over the past five or ten years and it really shows no sign of slowing up. Why would it when it is so convenient, easy to use, and cheap? Even more so, the quality is much better than most people expect when they think of placing calls “over the Internet”. In fact, it is probably even better than cell phone audio quality, no matter how far along that technology has come.  You do need to have to have a high-speed Internet connection because it will not work with dial-up. But it does work with a regular phone so you can just pull your old one out of the wall and plug it into your Magic Jack adapter.

So how much does Magic Jack cost? One recent buyer reported paying about $45 at Best Buy for the Magic Jack device, one year’s worth of service (must be renewed on the cheap at the end of the first year), a voice mail account, and a free included US phone number.

Once you get it home, you just plug the device into the USB port in the side of your computer. Make sure it is hooked up to the Internet beforehand. Then the software should automatically install onto your computer’s hard drive. Follow the promptings on the screen; they are easy to understand. After all of that is done all one has to do is plug their phone jack into the Magic Jack and it will be all set. Then when you pick up the phone you may even be delightfully surprised to hear a dial tone already ringing through it like you are used to from years of normal phone use.

That is really all it takes to operate and install your Magic Jack voip device. The makers have made sure to make it as easy as possible because they know that is a stumbling block for people regarding other devices.
