What About Magic Jack
The VoIP phone is probably one of the fastest growing and most under-appreciated technologies of the past ten or fifteen years. Most people have heard about this new kind of phone service but don’t know what to choose. What about Magic Jack? You have probably seen its infomercials on TV but may not be all that familiar with exactly what it is and what it does. Here is a beginner’s overview that will help you to be able to make your own informed decision on whether it is something that may work for you. For many people it has been exactly this, and I suspect that this has only been the tip of the iceberg so far.
The Magic Jack Internet phone works by utilizing your already existing Internet connection. It is a very simple device indeed and does not cost much at all. You will have to initially buy it and sign up for a year or more of service. After that, the only additional cost will be in renewing your subscription to be able to use this voip phone. In fact, Magic Jack is a VoIP phone system which stands for “Voice over Internet Protocol”. That tells us what kind of a system it works over. Essentially, it bypasses the traditional phone and phone lines and uses Internet to transmit and receive voice data. It scrambles it up, sends it, receives it, and translates it back into understandable audio. And it does all this for much cheaper than can be done over traditional phone lines. That is the real reason why most people start using this new technology: because they can save massive amounts of money on their phone bills (especially long distance) over the long term. Many people completely eliminate their landline phone and instead just come to rely on a voip phone and their cell phone. This is a great one-two combination for all your vocal communication distant needs.
One should expect to pay between $40-$50 when they first get started using the Magic Jack. After that, as has been indicated, the price will come down because you already have the device and are just paying to keep up the necessary subscription service. (This costs virtually nothing as you will see; it certainly beats normal phone bills.) Those are the basics of this great, new, burgeoning technology. It is especially popular with senior citizens and tech enthusiasts but is certainly not limited to them.

If your magic jack doesn’t work do not think that you will be able to fix it. There is no customer service phone number to help you. Magic Jack sends you to the “Just Answer.Computer” website which tries to help you but actually can not. You have to pay for the “Just Answer.computer” website so not a deal there when it should be Magic Jack’s problem since it is their product.
